The Christian life is not glamorous, it is not easy. Thus neither is the work of missionaries. A team of 40 people came to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and realized just this. The living conditions were not the best. There was a greenhouse that looked like a barracks and it was converted into sleeping quarters. The flooring was concrete and there was dust everywhere.
In the beginning there were only two toilets and one shower for a team of 40 people. Yet, they were very accepting of the living conditions and thankful. Through the whole outreach, the team was growing in servanthood and becoming a helping hand for others and for Christ.
As the building was being refurbished, the team was improving in their leadership and their willingness to serve. By the end of the trip, the barracks was finished, but God was not finished with them. God is continuting to work in the hearts of this team, and God is continuting to use to the good work that this team started on the reservation.
